Trecan Combustion Limited is expanding its facility to increase production of its branded Snowmelter products. The Nova Scotia firm is a designer and manufacturer of snow melting equipment.
Trecan is increasing production capacity at its shop with a 89 x 60- ft. building expansion, adding an enclosed test area, a cutting shop with a two-ton overhead crane, a training facility and additional offices. The project engages local suppliers and will create five new full-time jobs for highly-skilled workers at Trecan.
Minister Peter MacKay today announced the Government of Canada’s $498,500 repayable investment to support the expansion project through ACOA’s Business Development Program.
Quick Facts
Trecan produces nine models of portable Snowmelters ranging from $150,000 to $1 million per unit in price, with melting capacities between 20 and 500 tons of snow per hour.
