LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Bob Jones has been appointed 2014 Chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors of Metro Washington. He was sworn into office on January 15 and his term will run from January 1 through December 31, 2014.
The board, which is comprised of several of the Washington, D.C. area's top construction professionals, works to protect and enhance the merit shop philosophy within the construction industry, identify pressing industry issues and provide valuable solutions to other professionals in the field. Jones, who has over three decades of industry experience, will preside over each meeting of the executive committee and board of directors, and help direct the board's initiatives by establishing the budget, monitoring the organization’s financial health, establishing policy and procedures and measuring progress against the association’s strategic plan.
“We are fortunate to have Bob at the helm of our association and look forward to supporting his goals to grow our association and engage our members in the political process,” says Metro Washington Chapter President Debra A. Schoonmaker.
Jones has served on the board since 2007 and will serve as next year’s chairman of the ABC CraftMasters Training Trust’s Board of Trustees. He has been with the Ruppert organization for 18 years and currently serves as the President of the Landscape Construction Division. He lives in Finksburg, Md. with his wife, Kara, and their three children.
