Teddy Laurence Shackelford "Shack" passed away March 6 after battling 32 years with heart problems.
Shackelford loved being an entrepreneur, inventor, fisherman, golfer, pilot and captain of his 21-foot boat "Lucky Dog" and his 40-foot boat "B&B". He was the owner of C&S Turf Care Equipment for 38 years, but he also worked for Chem-Lawn in Columbus, Ohio, from 1971 through 1976 as a service manager. He was additionally branch manager for Barefoot Grass Lawn service in Worthington, Ohio, for two years.
Schackelford bought and started his first Barefoot Grass franchise in Canton, Ohio, in 1979. He sold all of his Barefoot Grass franchises in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Karen (Covert) Shackelford, his daughter Heather (Smith), his grandson Noah Smith and his former son-in-law Chris Smith, his mother-in-law Wanda Covert and brother-in-law Mike Covert. His mother Betty Shackelford (Gilbert) preceded him in death. His family hosted calling hours earlier this month.
