Gachina hires business development manager

Steven van Dongen comes to the company with nearly two decades of experience.


MENLO PARK, Calif. – Gachina Landscape Management has hired Steven van Dongen to further develop the company's growing portfolio of Bay Area Corporate clients. van Dongen's resume includes nearly two decades of horticultural and sales management experience in New York City, the Mid-West, and Northern California. van Dongen also brings special expertise to Gachina in the area of flower bulb gardening and annual color selections.

He has held senior sales management positions at Bayer Crop Science and Shire Pharmaceuticals in the San Francisco Bay Area. He started out his career managing relationships in New York City for the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce, working with Dutch multinationals and their partners, such as Phillips, Rabobank, Cushman & Wakefield, CBRE and Randstad North America.

van Dongen joins Gachina as the business development manager for corporate accounts in the Peninsula and Silicon Valley, working closely with owner, H. Jaclyn Ishimaru-Gachina, and the business development team.

"I have a lot of confidence in Steven to connect with our discerning customer base," said Ishimaru-Gachina.

van Dongen holds a Bachelors in business administration from Holland University in the Netherlands and speaks fluent Dutch, with advanced knowledge of Spanish, French and German.
