HARTFORD, Conn. – Landscape construction company EDI Landscape has been certified as a fence contractor by the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (ConnDOT) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program.
To become certified as a DBE by the State of Connecticut, a company must be a for-profit small business in which socially and economically disadvantaged individuals own at least a 51 percent interest and also control management and daily business operations.
EDI Landscape is led by partners Kimberly Colapietro and Joan Murdoch-Davidson. The DBE fence contractor recognition gives the company an opportunity to win bids for ConnDOT contracts, including highway, transit and airport projects.
“We provide expert, on-time and on-budget services to clients in a variety sectors, including large-scale fence installations for municipalities and private commercial projects,” said Colapietro. “This DBE certification will allow us to bid for fence projects contracted by the state that we otherwise would not have been able to.”
