ORLANDO, Fla. – Massey Services Chairman and CEO Harvey L. Massey was honored as the 2018 Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinner Honoree by the Boy Scouts of America Central Florida Council. The Golden Eagle award recognizes outstanding community leaders for their service.
Growing up in Louisiana, Massey was a Boy Scout for several years and credits his early understanding of leadership and honoring commitments to his experience with the Boy Scouts.
“I am truly honored and humbled to be recognized by the Boy Scouts of America,” Massey said. “Having been a Boy Scout, I can share that my involvement in scouting helped broaden my horizons, knowledge and experience growing up. Scouting provides positive experiences for our youth that will last a lifetime. I offer a special thanks to the Boy Scouts of America for continuing to guide our youth with character-building programs that help produce our future leaders of America.”
The Golden Eagle Dinner is an annual event that brings together business, civic and political leaders of the Central Florida community to share the story of Scouting’s impact on youth. Past dinner honorees have included Arnold Palmer, Mayors Buddy Dyer and Teresa Jacobs, Dr. John C. Hitt, Leonard Williams, Jim Seneff, Lars Houmann and Charlie Gray.
