ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Heads Up Landscape Contractors has announced that its CEO, Gary Mallory, has been named a Professional Landcare Network (PLANET, now called the National Association of Landscape Professionals - NALP) Academic Excellence Foundation Ambassador. Ambassadors contribute time and resources to endow AEF scholarships for students enrolled in landscape contracting and/or horticulture programs at two-year or four-year colleges and universities.
“I liked that the endowment is an ongoing way to give back to the landscape industry that has been so good to me,” says Mallory, who founded Heads Up Landscape Contractors in 1973. “The kids who receive these scholarships are super appreciative and have real passion for the industry. We’re helping sow the seeds for the next generation, and raising awareness of what a good career landscaping can be. Every day, everything we do has meaning and contributes to the betterment of our community.”
