ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Heads Up Landscape Contractors has promoted staff member Rigoberto “Rigo” Zavala. Heads Up was founded in 1973 as a four-man residential lawn sprinkler service. Now 40 years later, Heads Up is one of the 100 largest landscape firms in the US, designing, installing and maintaining New Mexico’s top commercial and residential landscapes. The company also leads the xeriscape industry from its Albuquerque headquarters, employing 250 people.
"Rigo is a great example of work ethic and dedication to his job,” said Eddie Padilla, vice president/director of sales & marketing. “He genuinely enjoys his job, and has grown during his time with us.”
Zavala started with Heads Up as a crew leader in 2006. He was promoted to supervisor in 2008. In March, he was promoted to field operations manager. In this role, he oversees the five field supervisors and coordinates with the operations division.
A native of Guanajuato, Mexico, Zavala immigrated to the United States in 1992. After living in California for 14 years, he moved to Albuquerque to be closer to family. He is married with three children.
