HERNDON, Va. – The National Association of Landscape Professionals will hold its annual Legislative Day on the Hill, July 10-12, in Washington D.C. The event includes the latest news and information about industry issues, visits with members of Congress, and lessons on how to become a more effective voice in the legislative and regulatory process as well as networking events and entertainment by the world-renowned political satire group, the Capitol Steps.
“This is a must-attend event for every landscape or lawn care company in the U.S. that cares about how the government impacts their business,” said Paul Mendelsohn, NALP vice president of government relations. “We need everyone to learn about the issues so they can talk effectively with their local, state and Federal representatives to help them understand the business pressures that they are under.”
The keynote speaker is Alex Castellanos, CNN commentator and one of the Republican party's best known and most successful strategists. He served as a media consultant to seven U.S Presidential campaigns as well as many senate and gubernatorial races. He brings two-decades of political consulting experience to bear in his keynote address, “Politics: A look into the future,” which will share insights about this year’s race for the White House.
“If there is ever a year to have an insider’s look at Washington, this is the year,” said Mendelsohn. “The event will be fun, informative and important for people’s businesses and for the industry as a whole.”
Legislative Day is held in conjunction with Renewal & Remembrance and will include dinners, receptions, a special Political Action Committee reception and entertainment from the Capitol Steps.
Attendees will also get a crash course in effective lobbying from the experts at the Washington D.C. firm from Advocacy Associates.
