NALP board president named

Scott Jamieson took over the role on May 1.

HERNDON, Va. – The National Association of Landscape Professionals (formerly PLANET) has announced that Scott Jamieson, Landscape Industry Certified, will be the president of the board of directors, effective May 1.

 
“I’m honored and excited to be president of NALP,” said Jamieson. “We have incredible momentum having come through a tremendous rebranding effort that has positioned us to bring more value to our members and the landscape profession.”
 
Jamieson is vice president of Bartlett Tree Experts. He leads Bartlett’s national recruiting and corporate partnerships efforts and also heads the Bartlett Inventory Solutions team in providing tree management plans to clients across the country. Aside from serving on NALP’s board, he is also active on the board of Openlands and is the former chair of the board for the Tree Care Industry Association as well as a former board member for the National Safety Council and the Alliance for Community Trees. 
 
He received a B.S. in Urban Forestry from Purdue University, where he has been honored as a Distinguished Alumni. He also received an M.S. in Urban Forestry from Michigan State University and an MBA from DePaul University. 
 
“We are the national association for all those companies that design, build and maintain the elements that come together to create landscapes where we all live, work and play,” said Jamieson. “Lawn care, landscape maintenance, tree care, irrigation, interior plantscape, and the designing and building of landscapes all come together to create our association of landscape professionals. Great landscapes don't just happen, it takes landscape professionals."
 

 
NALP also announced the appointment of Scott Lindley as vice president of sales and marketing.
 
Most recently, Lindley was president of The Lindley Group, a consulting firm specializing in meetings, marketing, sales and management services to the association community. He has been selected to expand the NALP’s strategic approach to business development and to create new platforms for revenue growth.
 
“Scott has a proven track record of success in sales, marketing and business development in the association community and supplier industries and is well-liked and respected by his peers,” said NALP CEO, Sabeena Hickman, CAE, CMP.  “We have aggressive growth goals at NALP and think Scott will play an important role in helping the association realize its potential.”
