Brady releases new Visual Workplace handbook

Milwaukee, WI – Brady has published a new Visual Workplace handbook, a free 21-page guide that outlines best practices for lean visual management. The free handbook explains the lean manufacturing concept of a visual workplace (also known as visual factory), and provides real-world examples of how visuals can be used to create a safer, more efficient workplace.

“Visuals are the most effective tools for reinforcing standards, stabilizing operations and sustaining lean improvements,” said Rick Ruzga, lean services engagement manager for Brady. “Every organization can benefit from making their operations more visual, and this handbook helps them know exactly how to get started.”

According to Ruzga, the Visual Workplace Handbook provides photos and examples of the most effective lean visuals being used in today’s facilities. The handbook reviews a variety of different types of visuals, including: facility and process visuals; storage location visuals; safety visuals; production and inventory control visuals; standard work visuals; and equipment care visuals.

The handbook also explains how to identify information deficits, which signal the need for visuals, and provides several ways to incorporate visuals into an organization’s existing lean activities.
