ENCINO, Calif – Cyber Rain announced that it is the first central irrigation product to earn the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) WaterSense certification.
Cyber Rain’s full line of residential and professional products has been independently certified to meet the WaterSense specification for weather-based irrigation controllers. Weather-based controllers use local weather data to tailor irrigation schedules to actual site conditions, ensuring that they are able to provide ample irrigation for healthy plant growth without overwatering.
“Homes with traditional irrigation systems can use about 50 percent more water than those without them,” said Veronica Blette, branch chief for WaterSense. “Properly installed and programmed WaterSense-labeled irrigation controllers can significantly reduce water waste, provide convenience, and meet plants’ water needs while supporting a healthy landscape.”
“We’re pleased to be the very first smart irrigation product to achieve full Watersense certification,” added James Krug, Cyber Rain CEO. “As landscape professionals and consumers transition to more efficient technology, this endorsement will clearly differentiate us from less effective competitive systems.”
Cyber Rain’s “irrigation controllers with a brain” use the Internet to check local weather and automatically adjust run times for a property’s outdoor irrigation system. A recent partnership with Weather Underground now provides the company with an extensive network of weather stations.
