The Midwest Ecological Landscaping Association is offering the opportunity to tour its first demonstration site, the Garden at O'Keeffe School, 6940 S. Merrill, Chicago.
A MELA Task Force has worked with the students at O'Keeffe for more than a year to help them rebuild their garden. The tour will allow attendees to see what MELA and the students have done to make the garden sustainable.
Tours will be given be students June 1 at 11:00 a.m. and 11:45 a.m.
The cost of the event is $15 for members and $25 for non-members – cash, credit card or check, payable at the door. Members may bring guests at the member rate. Pre-registration is not required but MELA ask that you contact the association if you plan to attend. Box lunches can be also ordered in advance for $15.
MELA gives a special thanks to The Compost Queen, Grace Landscaping, MELA contributors and its partner, Neighbor Space.
