HERNDON, Va. — Extreme adventurer, charismatic storyteller and motivational speaker Jamie Clarke will share about the power of passion and what “real winning” means during the keynote address at the 2010 Professional Landcare Network (PLANET) Green Industry Conference (GIC), October 27–30, in Louisville, Ky. Clarke, who has twice summited Mount Everest and has completed the 620-mile crossing of Arabia’s Empty Quarter (making him one of the first Westerners in 50 years to accomplish this feat), uses his adventures to challenge audiences to face the internal battle of self-awareness and not to fear failure in pursuit of their dreams. His sense of humor, captivating storytelling and tenacious spirit will serve as an inspirational kickoff to GIC, sponsored by John Deere at the Platinum level and Bayer Environmental Science at the Silver level. GIC is held in conjunction with the GIE+EXPO.
New to the conference this year will be the co-location of the national hardscape show, Hardscape North America 2010, offering attendees access to a full range of educational sessions. It also includes products and technology for contractors and installers who build segmental pavements and segmental retaining walls; Specialty Group Thursday featuring a day of networking and education targeted to lawn care, landscape management, and design/build/installation specialty groups; and a series of interactive clinics that will allow participants to dive deeper on several topics with some of the industry’s most knowledgeable experts.
Launching at GIC this year will be the brand new PLANETuniverse.org website, the one-stop destination for news and information about the green industry. All this awaits attendees in addition to Breakfast With Champions, the live auction and a host of networking opportunities.
