Philip Dobbs, chief marketing officer at TruGreen, has left for Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, making him the fourth executive to leave the ServiceMaster Co. this year.
Dobbs position as BATO’s Consumer Tire Business chief marketing officer for the U.S. and Canada was effective Monday, according to a press release on BATO’s website.
Dobbs was hired as TruGreen’s CMO in 2009. He led branding, advertising and customer acquisition activities, according to the release. He also played a lead role in long-term strategic planning and business growth efforts and the brand re-launch for the TruGreen brand.
Brad Cumings, CMO of Terminix is serving as interim CMO while TruGreen searches for a replacement, said ServiceMaster spokesman Chris Curran.
The recent shakeup at TruGreen has involved the selling of its underperforming commercial landscape division, TruGreen LandCare, and the loss of three other top executives.
Stephen Donly, president of TruGreen LawnCare, resigned in May and was an employee of the company until June 1. Thomas Brackett, president and COO of Terminix, is leading the lawn care business until a replacement is found.
Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Steven Martin resigned from the company effective April 29, according to the Memphis Daily News. David Martin was appointed as interim chief financial officer, while an external search for a permanent replacement takes place. Martin has served as the company’s senior vice president and controller since 2007 and chief accounting officer since 2010.
J. Patrick Spainhour retired as CEO of ServiceMaster in March and was replaced by Hank Mullany.
