McHale Landscape Design's Keith Bowman has accepted a three-year term on the Board of the Maryland Turfgrass Council.
Bowman moved to Maryland in 2003 after receiving a bachelor’s degree in turfgrass science from Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduation, he accepted a position at McHale Landscape Design. He is currently in his 17th year with McHale and is the head of the Maintenance Division & Business Development.
Working with plants has been part of Bowman’s life since a young age. At the age of 12, he started harvesting watermelons in the summer. In high school, he worked on the grounds crew at the local community college and then interned as a groundskeeper for a minor league baseball team while at Penn State. As part of his term on the Board of Directors, Bowman said he hopes to help educate the public on turfgrass policy and technique. Furthermore, he hopes to promote careers in the green industry as he feels there are many fulfilling careers available.
In his free time, Bowman enjoys coaching Little League Baseball, playing softball and golf and spending time with his family. He is a resident of Baltimore City.
