Davey names new market manager

Geoff Cowan will work with the company’s Chicago-based residential and commercial operations.

KENT, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company announced the promotion of Geoff Cowan to market manager of the company’s Chicago-based residential and commercial operations.
 

In his new position, Cowan will assist in the implementation of sales, safety and client experience goals and objectives.
 

Cowan joined Davey in 1983 as a tree care trainee and has worked his way through the company in numerous field and sales positions. Cowan was instrumental in the opening of Davey’s Kansas City tree care territory in 1988 and has served as the district manager of the South Chicago office since 1996.

While at the Chicago office, Cowan served as a service line leader to mentor young employees, integrated operations acquired by Davey and played an integral role in the management and early implementation of the Asian Longhorned Beetle initiative for the Chicago area.
 

Cowan is an International Society of Arboriculture certified arborist, a graduate of the Davey Institute of Tree Sciences and a past member of Davey’s President’s Council. He also was a recipient of the Outstanding Manager Award presented at Davey’s 2004, 2007 and 2013 National Managers’ Meeting.
 

“Geoff has a wealth of experience in the Chicago area and within residential and commercial operations as a whole,” said Jim Stief, executive vice president of operations. “His experience and dedication will be a valuable asset in the growth and improvement of Davey’s Chicago residential and commercial operations.”
