SNA 2014 new speaker

Dr. Helen Kraus will discuss how plant selection can be a new source of revenue for landscapers.

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Southern Nursery Association (SNA) has announced final details of the special educational sessions that will be held during SNA 2014, scheduled for July 22 - 24, 2014, at Atlanta’s Georgia International Convention Center (GICC). SNA 2014 combines a regional marketplace with the Southern Plant Conference, the SNA Research Conference, the SNA Annual Business Meeting, and the SNA State Officer's Conference, and will feature special educational sessions designed specifically for the grower, landscaper and retailer. The event is expected to draw more than 2,000 industry professionals from across the region.
 
On Thursday Katheryn Dager of Profivity, Inc. will present “Turn Your Team Into a Selling Machine,” to help retailers create a team of selling machines that will engage customers and keep them coming back. Cost of these sessions is $49 (by July 18) and $79 (after July 18.)
 
The Georgia Green Industry Association (GGIA) will offer two educational sessions for landscapers on Wednesday, July 23 and Thursday, July 24. On Wednesday, Dr. Helen Kraus, Assistant Professor, North Carolina State University, will present “Rain Gardens to the Rescue,” sharing her expertise innovative practices and successful plant selection to create beautiful additions to the landscape and a possible new source of revenue for landscapers. Cost of this session is $49 (by July 15) and $79 (after July 18.)
 
The Southern Plant Conference, Landscape Sessions, and the SNA Research Conference are all approved for PLANET Landscape Industry Certified recertification at 1 CEU per hour of instruction attended. CEUs also approved for FNGLA Certified Professional, and Texas Certified Nursery Professional. CEU approval pending from ISA, GGIA, and VNLA.
 
In addition, retailers will have an opportunity to access AmericasMart Atlanta during SNA Day @AmericasMart on Tuesday, July 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by presenting their SNA 2014 Name Badge to access over 500 Open Daily Showrooms, and The Gardens to enhance their current product lines and locate new sources. Admission to the SNA 2014 Marketplace is $20 (by July 18) and $30 on-site. And, parking is free for all attendees. Simply mention SNA 2014 to the parking attendant.
