Columbus, Ohio – AmericanHort elected three new members to its board of directors. The individuals were chosen from different parts of the horticulture industry for their various experiences, skills and backgrounds.
A ceremony to welcome the new board members will take place at Cultivate ’18 on July 14 to 17 in Columbus. There, AmericanHort will also introduce five new officers to the board, including Mike Klopmeyer as chairman and Susie Raker-Zimmerman as vice chairman.
Klopmeyer joined Ball Horticultural Company as corporate plant pathologist in 1989 and Raker-Zimmerman is the vice president at Raker-Roberta’s Young Plants. Both Klopmeyer and Zimmerman have served on the board since 2015.
“It’s important that all segments of our industry are represented on the board,” said Ken Fisher, president and CEO of AmericanHort. “We are excited to welcome this diverse group of new members.”

Chris McCorkle, vice president of operations, McCorkle Nurseries
