KENT, Ohio – The Davey Tree Expert Company has announced the appointment of Mike Veney to manager, environmental programs for the Davey Institute, the green industry’s premier research, development and innovation group.
Veney has more than 15 years of experience creating and implementing programs designed to adhere to environmental regulations for multi-national corporations and will use his expertise to lead Davey’s environmental stewardship and corporate responsibility efforts.
“Mike’s work supports all of Davey’s field operations by developing policies and programs maintaining Davey’s industry leadership with regards to employee health, environmental protection and innovation,” said Greg Ina, vice president and general manager of the Davey Institute. “This role is important to help ensure Davey’s science-based approach to arboriculture considers all aspects of environmental responsibility and encourages sustainable landscape practices.”
Veney holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental management from the University of Findlay and a degree in law from the University of Akron.
