DETROIT – Betsy Flegg, a 28-year GM veteran, rejoined the GM Fleet team in June as regional director for the Northeast Region, which includes New England, New York and the Mid-Atlantic states. In this role, Flegg manages the field sales team to develop strong customer and dealer relationships and meet vehicle share and delivery objectives in the region.
Most recently, Flegg was with Chevrolet, where she helped develop the launch strategies for the all-new 2018 Chevrolet Equinox and Traverse crossovers. Prior to that, she spent a total of 12 years working with fleet customers across the country as an account executive, service development manager, commercial product manager and advertising and marketing manager.
She replaces Jeff Haag, who will retire from GM in July after a 33-year career. Another GM Fleet veteran, Brian Bowden, will retire in July. Bowden, who joined GM in 1982, was the government sales manager, organizing customer- and dealer-facing activities to support government customer conquests throughout the regions. He will be replaced by Dana Hammer, who will continue as the manager of law enforcement product sales.
“GM Fleet has made huge strides building stronger relationships with commercial and government fleet managers thanks to the hard work of Jeff Haag and Brian Bowden. They have nearly 70 years’ of experience between them, and were devoted to finding solutions for our customers,” said Ed Peper. “Betsy and Dana share the same commitment and they will help us accelerate everything we are doing to become the preferred business partner for government and commercial customers.”
Year over year, GM has gained market share in the commercial fleet segment for 10 consecutive months through May driven by products such as the Chevrolet Malibu sedan and Silverado pickup. Combined deliveries to government and commercial customers are now more than half of all GM Fleet deliveries.
