Cleveland — Project EverGreen launched a recruiting challenge and commemorative T-shirt offer to attract new volunteers for GreenCare for Troops this year. If GreenCare for Troops volunteers refer a new volunteer by July 31, 2018, they can earn a GreenCare for Troops limited edition T-shirt for themselves and the new volunteer.
The limited edition “Service Is In Their DNA” shirt will be available until July 31 for sale, as well. A portion of the sales will go to support the program. New volunteers can register and purchase the T-shirts for themselves and their entire crew on the GreenCare for Troops page.
GreenCare for Troops, which is in its 12th year, has seen more than 11,000 military families and veterans register to receive an estimated $8 million in donated lawn care and landscape services from more than 6,000 green industry professionals.
“Just think, if every lawn and landscape company volunteered to help at least one military family, what a powerful message of giving back that would send,” said Cindy Code, executive director of Project EverGreen. “The GreenCare for Troops program creates an environment for military families and disabled veterans to heal, reflect and re-connect with their loved ones.”
Nufarm is the presenting partner for GreenCare for Troops. Platinum partners include The Toro Company and SiteOne Landscape Supply. For more details on becoming a GreenCare for Troops volunteer, call 888-611-2955 or visit Project EverGreen’s website.
