Bloomington, Minn. – The Toro Company is proud to introduce its Land. Water. Thrive. Initiative, aiming to improve water use, enhance outdoor environments and green spaces as well as educate on sustainable agricultural practices.
Part of this initiative will have Toro contributing up to $1 million in grants to nonprofits with the “Greenspace Enhancement Grant Program.” The grant program will support organizations with goals align with the Land. Water. Thrive. Initiative.
“Impacting lives through the sustainable use of land and water is the focus of Land. Water. Thrive,’” Judson McNeil, president of the Toro Foundation, said. “The grant program is directed at conserving and restoring g our outdoor environments to ensure healthier, more vibrant and sustainable communities where our employees live and work.”
The Greenspace Enhancement Grant Program will support organizations in a select number of cities in 2018. Those cities include:
- Beatrice, Nebraska
- Bloomington, Minnesota
- El Paso, Texas
- Iron Mountain, Michigan
- Riverside, California
- Sanford, Florida
- Shakopee, Minnesota
- Windom, Minnesota
- Xiamen City, China
- Ploiesti, Romania
- Spellbrook, United Kingdom
Locations for the 2019 grant program will be announced at a later date. The deadline to apply for a grant is Sept. 1, 2018. Grant criteria, the online application and other information can be found at The Toro Company’s website.
