The OLCA Outdoor Summer Seminar is limited to 200 attendees.

Register today to attend the 21st Annual Ohio Lawn Care Outdoor Summer Seminar taking place on August 13 at the Ohio Turfgrass Foundation Research & Education Facility in Columbus. OLCA member registration is only $40 for the first person and $30 for every individual thereafter from the same company (by August 7). OLCA has applied for pesticide credit from the Department of Agriculture.

9 a.m. – Registration
10 a.m. – Welcome, what do you get for your membership and how can you be involved?
10:30 a.m.  General session 1- Pesticide update: The Ohio laws, regulation and ODA update – Tim Hoffman, Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA, CORE, 0.5 hrs.)
11 a.m. – General session 2- Ornamental trees, shrubs and ornamental insect and disease update – "The Bug Doc”, Dave Shetlar, Department of Entomology and Nancy Taylor, director of the OSU Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic (ODA, Cat. 6A, 0.5 hours)
11:30 a.m. – Noon – Lunch
Station rotations:12:10 p.m.–12:40 p.m.; 12:45 p.m.–1:15 p.m.; 1:20 p.m.–1:50 p.m.; 1:55 p.m.–2:25 p.m.; 2:30 p.m.–3 p.m.
• Station 1: Current diseases and lawn problems and how to identify and manage – Joe Rimelspach, Department of Plant Pathology, OSU (ODA, Cat 8, 0.5 hrs.)
• Station 2: Lawn insect update – Billbugs, grubs and more! – Dr. Dave Shetlar, Department of Entomology, OSU and Entomology Graduate Student, Jen Andon (ODA, Cat. 8, 0.5 hrs)
• Station 3: Weed control in the field – Identify, manage and product update – Graduate Student(s) Department of Horticulture & Crop Science (ODA, Cat 8, 0.5 hrs.)
• Station 4: Assessment of what makes accurate granular applications – Jerry Sullivan, Scotts LawnService (ODA, Cat. 8, 0.5hrs)
• Station 5: Supplier and equipment showcase - Each vendor presents a five minute highlight of something "new” or of interest to the participants.
