Ivy Munion, ASIC past president, passed away on May 23, 2016 after losing a long battle with cancer. Throughout her life Munion was very passionate about water; how to protect it for future irrigation use and how to conserve it in her irrigation designs. She was also passionate about anything she was involved with, including her work with the American Society of Irrigation Consultants (ASIC). Her leadership positions within the ASIC Northern California chapter and national board were big parts of her professional life.
Munion was very involved with local and California state water policy, protecting the right to have water for irrigation and always promoting efficient irrigation. Her irrigation consulting firm, ISC Group, is well respected throughout the California green industry and nationwide.
ASIC has created an endowment to memorialize Munion’s passion and spirit. I hope you will join me in making a contribution to the ASIC Ivy Munion Memorial Scholarship fund. The goal is to have an endowment that will annually provide a scholarship to a student currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college, whose major emphasizes irrigation courses.
