A Pennsylvania homeowner and an Indiana golf course company have filed a class-action lawsuit against DuPont charging that the company was negligent or reckless in putting a new weed killer on the market.
The suit, filed Monday in federal court in Delaware, asserts that the herbicide, Imprelis, is killing trees, shrubs and ornamental plants across the country. It seeks compensation for all damage suffered as a result of applications of Imprelis, an injunction barring DuPont from selling the product and unspecified punitive damages. In a statement, DuPont said it was “confident that this purported class-action lawsuit is unfounded, and we will oppose it vigorously.”
