Milwaukee – Grant & Power Landscaping, based out of Chicago, recently received national recognition from the Snow & Ice Management Association (SIMA) as the recipient of a 2012 Safety Award. The award was presented to company CEO Gene Grant Jr. and Vice President of Operations Scott Hutchings during the Awards & Recognition Night at the 15th Annual Snow & Ice Symposium in Buffalo, N.Y.
“SIMA is proud to present the snow & ice industry awards to deserving companies,” says Martin Tirado, executive director of SIMA. “The awards recognize companies that are dedicated to the snow and ice industry through safety, successful business practices, professionalism, and more.”
The SIMA Safety Award is presented to companies with a strong focus on safety. Applicants submit an entry form, safety program checklist, applicable OSHA forms, and details about safety training classes, which are then reviewed and approved by SIMA. Applicants must also submit specific company information including number of snow/ice events, number of injuries/accidents, and number of property damages for the past years’ snow season.
Grant & Power Landscaping has been a full service, commercial, snow and ice management contractor for over 30 years.
