Until recently there have not been industry standards that provide landscape professionals with consistent recommendations on how to perform tree injection applications. A team of university scientists and industry experts collaborated with the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) to create and publish Best Management Practices – Tree Injection (BMP). This BMP is a consensus document intended to serve as a guide for landscape professionals to create common standards for tree injection in the green industry.
Shawn Bernick, MS is the co-author of the ISA Tree Injection BMP. During this webinar, he will speak on:
• The use of tree injection in the landscape
• The role of tree injection in an integrated PHC approach
• Best management practices for proper tree injection applications
• Tree injection tools, options and recommendations
Bernick has conducted and directed numerous tree injection research trials across the United States on a variety of insect and disease problems that affect tree health. He also has years of practical teaching and field experience that helps for training internal staff and landscape professionals on proper PHC treatments and applications.
Bernick has written both peer reviewed research articles and numerous trade articles for ArborAge, TCIA, and other trade journals.
Bernick earned his BS degrees in horticulture and agricultural education from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and obtained his MS in plant pathology from the University of Minnesota. He received his degrees with honors.
