There’s so much to learn and so much to see at GIE+EXPO that it can seem like it’s over before it begins. And while the new products and education are the star of the show, you ever know who you’re going to meet.
“This show is where I always receive motivation and direction for refocusing my business,” says Sam Stearns with Mr. Mower Man in Scottsburg, Indiana. “There are a lot of highly experienced people here who have a lot of insight into things I need to focus on during the next year. … For me, the most effective part of the show is the networking and all the advice I receive.”
Everyone is in the same boat trying to take it all in but don’t forget to connect with your colleagues, many of whom are probably facing the same challenges you are. Whether it’s stopping for a cup of coffee or a bite to eat, attending education sessions or walking the show floor, there are tons of opportunities to make lasting connections.
The nightly 4th Street Live! concerts are another great way to connect with your colleagues in a relaxed setting. This year’s lineup features Uncle Kracker, The Crashers and V-Groove. “We’re excited to have BOB-CAT Mowers on board as the concert sponsor and Mercedes-Benz Vans as the concert stage sponsor,” says Warren Sellers, show director. “With their support, we’ve planned a dynamic lineup of entertainers that will allow attendees and exhibitors alike to continue the networking and camaraderie beyond the tradeshow floor.”
And don’t forget to follow up with your newfound connections after the show. Don’t just throw all of the business cards you’ve collected in a drawer and forget about them! You’ll always have the chance to catch up at GIE+EXPO 2018.
