NALP hires government relations director

Bob Mann will serve as director of state and local government relations.

FAIRFAX, Va. — The National Association of Landscape Professionals named Bob Mann as its director of state and local government relations, a newly created position. Mann will start with NALP Sept. 5.

Mann is landscape industry certified and formerly served as an agronomist for Lawn Dawg. He is also a landscape industry certified lawn care manager and a certified pesticide applicator in six states. He has served as president of the Massachusetts Association of Lawn Care Professionals. In addition, he was on the board of directors of PLCAA, NALP’s legacy association, and he has been active in the association’s Lawn Care Committee and on the Public Affairs Advisory Council.

“We are thrilled to have Bob join us on staff in our expanded government relations department,” said NALP CEO Sabeena Hickman, CAE. “His technical knowledge combined with his association and political experience make him a perfect advocate for us at the state and local levels, which are so critically important.”

Mann is NALP’s third hire from the industry this year, joining recruiting expert Jenn Myers, who is the director of workforce development for the association, and Rex Bishop, who is the director of technical education. In the new position, Mann will be working from his home on Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
