SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Dianthus Starburst (‘WP07YETIS’) is a unique Whetman Dianthus selection ideal for end cap retail promotions. This pretty and unusual dwarf Dianthus has art deco patterned semi-double flowers with cherry red and white stripes that look like old-fashioned humbug sweets. Starburst has a long flowering period – from April to October – and will grow well in a sunny spot in well-drained soil. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage further flowers.
Starburst is compact with a tidy mounding habit approximately 7 in. x 7 in. of grey-green foliage.
Starburst is Zone 5 hardy and requires no vernalization. This gorgeous beauty is versatile enough for edging, mass plantings and is ideal for patio containers and rockeries.
