MILWAUKEE, Wis. -- For 21 years, Briggs & Stratton Corporation has been a title sponsor for Briggs & Al's Run & Walk for Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. This year's event took place on Saturday, Sept. 17, and brought nearly 15,000 people to downtown Milwaukee, raising more than $1 million.

"Briggs & Stratton is proud to continue our title sponsorship for this great event," said Todd Teske, Briggs & Stratton's chairman, president and CEO. "It's all about the kids, and that sentiment is shared by the hundreds of our employees, friends and families who participate every year, affirming our commitment to helping Children's Hospital make a difference in the lives of children in our community."

"At Children's Hospital, we believe there's nothing more important than giving every child the best chance for a healthy life and a bright future," said Peggy Troy, Children's Hospital of Wisconsin's president and CEO. "We are 100 percent focused on kids and work every day to heal kids when they're sick, and keep them healthy and safe in the first place. The care we provide wouldn't be possible without the phenomenal support we receive from the community through events like this."

Since its inception 39 years ago, the event has raised more than $19 million through gifts and pledges. Money raised goes to support Children's Hospital's research, advocacy, care and education efforts throughout the state.
