Bill Arman and Ed Laflamme from the Harvest Group and the three winners of the 2017 Turnaround Tour will be part of a panel discussing how their businesses have transformed over the last year. They’ll talk about the ups, downs and everything in between at the panel, which will take place Thursday, Oct. 19, from 3-4:15 p.m. at the Kentucky Exposition Center Room B105 during LANDSCAPES 2017 and GIE+EXPO.

Sponsored by Fleetmatics, the Turnaround Tour appeared in Lawn & Landscape magazine and on its website and documented how Freedom Lawn Care, Vineland Landscaping and Wade’s Lawn Service could improve and become more profitable operations. The three companies were chosen by Lawn & Landscape and Arman and Laflamme based on applications submitted.

“These companies had to open up all aspects of their businesses and let Bill and Ed dive in to find out what was working and what wasn’t,” said Brian Horn, editor of Lawn & Landscape, who will moderate the panel. “All parties had to be transparent with Lawn & Landscape to get the real story of how these companies could get over the hurdles that.”

The panel will expand on the past print and video coverage in Lawn & Landscape, which you can see at bit.ly/TurnaroundTour, and will give an update on how the winners are doing almost a year after The Harvest Group visited these companies.

“The experience has been both educational and rewarding for both The Harvesters and those on the Turnaround Tour. We met some awesome owners that took our advice, applied it and are now enjoying both growth and profits. For us it doesn’t get better than that,” Laflamme said.

Throughout the year, the Arman and Laflamme worked with the companies on problems that face a lot of landscape contractors like dropping unprofitable customers, collecting payments on time and grasping the financial side of a business.

“This panel will give first-person accounts of issues that plague many companies in the green industry,” Arman said. “You’ll be able to hear how the Turnaround Tour winners approached these problems, and what we did to tweak those plans to help them increase profits.”
