FAIRFAX, Va. — The Irrigation Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2019 scholarship program.
The annual program was created in an effort to promote careers in irrigation by providing financial support for the education of worthy scholarship candidates. The scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $2,500, are awarded based on the candidate’s letter of intent, financial need, resume, list of irrigation courses and letters of reference.
To be eligible for the scholarship program applicants must be U.S. citizens currently enrolled (undergraduate or graduate) at a U.S. technical or vocational school, community college, university or similar institution of higher learning with a graduation date of December 2019 or later. They must also have taken or be currently enrolled in a class with an irrigation-related curriculum and have a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA, based on a 4.0 scale.
Scholarship applications are due by Feb. 15, with notification to award winners by April 1.
