The Gallivan Corp. project was designed for multiple entertaining areas.
TROY, N.Y. – Gallivan Corp., a family-owned and managed landscape design construction and management firm based out of Troy, N.Y., was recently awarded a Merit Award by PLANET. The award was given as part of PLANET’s 2011 Annual Environmental Improvement Awards.
“We are thrilled to be recognized by PLANET as our talented team puts tremendous passion into each and every project,” said Brendan Gallivan, president of Gallivan Corp.
The award was based on a residential landscape installation project at a private residence in the Capital District. The project was designed with multiple entertaining areas. One entertainment area features a circular paver patio with a bluestone border and seating walls along with a gas fire pit. Another area consists of the pool and hot tub. There is a concrete pool deck and bluestone coping with natural, full-color bluestone border. A natural limestone waterfall flows into the custom pool and the hot tub and fitted with custom cut radial bluestone cap stones. A custom hemlock pergola and an outdoor kitchen top provide another elegant entertainment area. Other features include bluestone stepping stones, plants and lighting. Award classification lists the cost of the project between $100,000 and $500,000.
This was the third nationally recognized landscape award for Gallivan Corp. for PLANETS annual Environmental Improvement Awards. In 2009, they were recipients of a Distinction Award and 2010 recipients of a Merit award for a backyard transformation. A formal award ceremony will take place at the Green Industry Conference in Louisville, Ky., on Oct. 28.
