ORLANDO, Fla. – U.S. Lawns franchisee Steve Ferguson in Hampton Roads was featured in Franchise Players, Entrepreneur’s Q&A interview column.
Entrepreneur chose Steve Ferguson, U.S. Lawns franchisee in Hampton Roads, Virginia, to get his insights into why an entrepreneur would choose a franchise.
Steve Ferguson started in the landscape industry at a young age, working at a nursery during high school. With that background, after college, he started his own residential lawn care business working out of his garage. When he decided to take his business to the next level, he didn't want to "reinvent the wheel" to break into the commercial grounds care market. U.S. Lawns had the systems and processes that had proven successful and stood the test of time.
Steve was a perfect candidate for the Entrepreneur interview. He and his wife Teana have the perfect partnership to grow their business at a pace that at times was aligned with, and at times ahead of, the U.S. Lawns model. Steve handles the operational side of the business and Teana manages the relationship side of the business. She is their ambassador to the industry organizations, helping them meet and forge friendships with property managers and owners.
In his Entrepreneur interview, Steve gave his overview and advice for anyone who may be thinking about purchasing a franchise.
