Mean Green introduces Nemesis NXR mower

The company also has a new portable lithium battery and solar power canopy.

Mean Green Mowers introduced the new electric Nemesis NXR mower with zero gas emission, no gas, low noise and little maintenance at GIE+EXPO in Louisville, Kentucky.

“We’re looking at this as the downfall of the gas mower,” said Joe Conrad, president.

The all-aluminum mower is available with a 48- or 52-inch deck. The 48-volt battery gives a 24 horsepower at its peak. It comes with an LEM 4880 and LEM 48140, which have a 2,000 to 3,500 mowing hour capacity.

The mower has a top speed of 8.5 mph and weighs 590 to 650 pounds. A light system shows operators how much power is left as they mow. It takes three to six hours to recharge.

Another innovation is the optional solar-assisted mower canopy on the CXR that will charge the battery while crewmembers mow, making it the first solar and electric mower. The canopy may qualify owners for a 30 percent federal solar tax credit.

When used on the Nemesis NXR, the mower produces net zero emission.

The new green lithium batteries can function as a backup generator to charge handheld electric equipment with an inverter.

And, Mean Green's new rite-ride suspension ensures a smoother ride on mowers.
