Benchmark Landscape wins CLCA award

POWAY, Calif. – For the 10th consecutive year, Benchmark Landscape has been recognized for excellence by the California Landscape Contractors Association. This year the company earned top honors in two commercial categories for their project at Soledad Business Park in San Diego: California-Friendly Landscape Maintenance, and California-Friendly Construction. These accomplishments were recently recognized at the CLCA’s Annual Beautification Awards Program, held at the Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College.

The goal of the Soledad project was to completely renovate the landscape to lower water usage and overall maintenance costs. Turf areas were eliminated and replaced with native rock, drought tolerant plants and drip irrigation in order to reduce the impact on the environment. Existing soil conditions of heavy clay and a tremendous amount of cobble made the renovation challenging. And – the property was sold and changed ownership midway through the renovation. The project took approximately four months to complete. In total, 25,000 square feet of landscape was renovated.

The landscape is now an asset to the site which improves the overall aesthetic environment as well as company morale. As an added feature, Benchmark installed a bocce ball court for employees.
