Jacobsen unveiled nine new products including the Jacobsen Professional Series, which includes three lines of zero-turn mowers and seven different models of utility vehicles. Jacobsen acquired Dixie Chopper in February of 2014 and Jacobsen President David Withers said there is some Dixie Chopper DNA in the Jacobsen.
Dixie Chopper mowers will focus more on the homeowner “with a lot of acreage” while Jacobsen’s new line is geared toward contractors and those who service municipalities. “We are different brands appealing to different clientele,” Withers said.
Below is a round-up of new Jacobsen products.
Jacobsen’s ZT Pro Series
• Choose from 25 or 27 horsepower Kawasaki FX engine or a fuel-efficient 27 horsepower Kohler EFI engine to power contractors up to 5.3 acres per hour.
• Offered in two cutting widths (50- and 60-inch), decks tackle large volumes of grass and provide a more attractive after-cut appearance.
• Add a Twist blade to the existing X-Blade to boost mulching performance.
• Hydro-Gear pumps and Parker wheel motors are designed to provide smooth and reliable steering.
• The standard commercial spindle has an added cooling fan that reduces the operating temperature of the belt and spindle while keeping the top side of the deck clean.
Jacobsen’s SZT Pro Series Stand-on has been introduced to the company’s commercial line-up.
• It features the new Vanguard 810cc series 26-horsepower engine.
• The SZT’s small footprint allows it to maneuver in tight areas and take up less trailer space.
• Flip up the operator platform to use the SZT as a conventional walk-behind.
• The deep deck features a seven-gauge steel shell and can handle large volumes of grass without slowing you down.
• Built-in footsteps allow the user to shift weight balance for better traction along hillsides.
Jacobsen also expanded the product line for 2015 with the all new WZT Pro Series for commercial contractors with the WZT Walk-Behind.
• Range of Deck Widths – Choose from three compact deck sizes (36 and 44 inches) built to fit into tight areas that require precise maneuverability.
• Equipped with an 18 horsepower Professional series engine from Briggs & Stratton.
• Choose a single-drive or dual-drive model that fits your application best.
• Keep up on regular maintenance with several convenient grease points.
• Dual-drive models come standard with a light kit to finish the job past sundown.
The new Jacobsen utility vehicles are led by the gas-powered Truckster MS/MX, featuring a large capacity of 1,200 pounds and a top speed of 17 MPH.
For contractors needing a quiet, electric option, the Truckster MS-E/MX-E is powered with a 72-volt electric drivetrain and a capacity of up to 1,000 pounds.
The gas-powered Truckster LS/LX offers an 800-pound capacity and a polyethylene bed.
