The 2011 Pacific Orchid Exposition being held March 3-6 is expected to boast more than 150,000 orchid flowers from around the world.
Held at Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion in San Francisco, the exposition brings together local, national and international orchid growers to showcase and sell their unique species and rare hybrids. The range in orchid flowers means a diverse collection of color, shape and size, and various societies and nurseries will create eye-popping displays. The Pacific Orchid Exposition also offers attendees tours, cultivation tips and the chance to speak with growers.
For its 59th year, the expo is themed "Natural Wonders," encouraging attendees to plunge into a scenic wonderland and be awed by the raw power of Mother Nature.
The event begins with the Gala Benefit Preview on Thursday, March 3 from 6:30-10 p.m. The gala features live music, hors d'oeuvres, a silent auction and wine tasting from more than 20 Bay Area wineries.
