LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Eleven teams competed at the 2014 Hardscape North America Installer Championship, but only one was declared The HNA Installer Champion for 2014.
The Hardscape North America Installer Championship is intended to test and recognize the skill, dedication and passion of hardscape contractors from Canada, the United States and Mexico. Each team that competes in the championship has their understanding of industry best practices and guidelines, safety, quality and craftsmanship tested in a race against the clock and other top installers in the industry. This championship determines the best of the best in the hardscape industry.
Teams met late on Wednesday, Oct. 22 for a preview of the rules, preliminary round construction drawings and to select preliminary round timeslots.
Preliminary rounds were held Thursday, October 23 at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. and Friday, October 24 at 10 a.m. Each team constructed an 8 foot by 10 foot patio area according to a very detailed drawing within 60 minutes using provided tools, concrete pavers, clay bricks and concrete wall blocks.
