HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – For the past three years, Rodney Smith Jr. made it his mission to help others by mowing lawns for free for the elderly, disabled, veterans and single mothers. Since then, Raising Men Lawn Care has mowed more than 2,000 lawns for free, WHNT News reported.
Smith has received help from about 150 kids across the country who pledge to provide this service to help those in need for free. Smith said this teaches kids the importance of giving back – he offers a platform for kids and young adults to give back to the community by offering services such as mowing lawns, shoveling snow or raking leaves free. Many have taken notice of Smith’s charity service – even Queen Elizabeth II. Recently, Smith flew to Bermuda and was presented with the Queen’s Award and Badge of Honor, presented by the Governor of Bermuda on the Queen’s behalf.
