LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Phil Key, president of Ruppert Landscape, is pleased to announce the hiring of Tom Barry as chief financial officer.
Prior to joining Ruppert Landscape, Barry was the chief investment officer of The Oliver Carr Company, Carr Hospitality and Carr City Centers, where he oversaw acquisitions, dispositions, financing, partnership structuring and a range of contract negotiations. Prior to joining the Carr Companies, Barry worked in the Real Estate Equity Research Group of FBR Capital Markets.
“Throughout the process of sourcing a new CFO, we talked to a lot of people and Tom brought a unique energy that we knew would make him a good fit,” said President Phil Key. “While he’s new to the landscape industry, his experience with real estate development and property management will provide us with a fresh, customer-focused perspective.”
In his role as chief financial officer, Barry will be responsible for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the company. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, job costing, legal, property management and deal analysis and negotiations.
Barry currently resides in Washington, DC with his wife, Kristin. He earned his masters of business administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his bachelor of science degree in business administration from American University in Washington, DC where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
