Kennewick, Wash. -- Senske Services is proud to announce that Gene Chafe, its Vice President of Pest Control, is the new recipient of the 2013 Crown Leadership Award for his commitment to helping people control the threat of pests. The organization Pest Control Technology presented the award to Chafe at the PestWorld 2013 conference in Phoenix, Arizona.
Chafe, a third generation pest management professional, has been working in the pest management industry for over three decades. He has spent the last 20 years with Senske Services where he was instrumental in expanding Senske’s pest control market though Eastern Washington, Idaho, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada.
For several years, Chafe has maintained a presence in professional organizations in the pest control industry. He currently participates in the National Pest Management Association’s Lawn Care Division. In the past, he has served on the National Pest Management Association’s Board of Directors and the National Wildlife Services Advisory Committee. Chafe was also a key figure in the revival of the Pacific Northwest Pest Conference.
Chafe has also worked with lawmakers on issues connected to his industry. He says his success is proof that anyone who wants to help others can indeed make a difference. Chafe says, “I’m a bug guy, I didn’t have the political savvy and whatnot, and through the process of working with congressional staff and working with Congress members themselves, I learned a great deal on how the government works.”
Chris Senske, President and CEO of Senske Services, says Chafe has shown unparalleled expertise and commitment in the industry of pest management. "We are very proud of Gene for being recognized for such an honor and for his continued leadership and passion in the pest control industry that he brings to Senske," says Chris Senske.
