Thanksgiving is time to celebrate the holiday season with family and friends, but it also marks a good time to reflect on what makes us grateful. There is much to be thankful for within the industry.
This past year, Lawn & Landscape received several stories where landscape professionals gave back to their communities or helped people in need. The following are a few stories that we can be thankful for:
- Earlier this month, Project EverGreen along with industry volunteers worked to renew a park in Detroit.
- In October, Las Vegas landscapers partner to construct a memorial to honor shooting victims.
- Many industry professionals helped with hurricane relief efforts this fall, including TPI and a New England landscaper who started a fundraiser for Hurricane Harvey victims.
- Dozens of kids committed to the Raising Men Lawn Care Service challenge to volunteer to mow lawns and perform maintenance work for those in need.
- A New Leaf, a group based in Oklahoma, helped to provide individuals with developmental disabilities life skills and job training in horticulture.
