Ruppert Landscape makes four hires

The company's Virginia Landscape Construction branch has also promoted Cristian Zelaya.

LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Ruppert Landscape has announced the hiring of Kelly Shaffer, Mike Ryan, Sara Maas and Mark Weisbrot and the promotion of Cristian Zelaya in the company’s Virginia Landscape Construction branch.

 
Shaffer, a resident of Warrenton, Virginia, has been hired as branch administrator. Prior to joining the company, she worked as an office manager in the medical field and has a great deal of administrative experience. As branch administrator, she will be responsible for maintaining and organizing all communication in and out of the office, weekly payroll, accounts payable and receivable processing as well as generating/maintaining financial reports and other general office duties.  
 
Ryan, a resident of Haymarket, Virginia, has been hired as production manager. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1998 with a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture and has more than 17 years of industry experience, having held positions in commercial landscape maintenance, commercial irrigation installation and residential design build. As production manager, he will be responsible for all aspects of the installation of traditional landscape projects, including supervising field personnel, managing subcontractors, overseeing projects, communicating to customers and maintaining quality standards.
 
Maas, a resident of Manassas, Virginia, has been hired as purchaser. She graduated from Peralta Community College in 2003 with an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in general studies and social sciences and has more than 10 years’ experience in sales and business development. As purchaser, she will be responsible for sourcing, acquiring and delivering materials necessary for all landscape installation projects at the branch level and negotiating purchases with vendors and sub-contractors.
 
Weisbrot, a resident of Rockville, Maryland, has been hired as estimator. He has a combined 12 years of industry experience, including six years in high-end residential landscaping and six years in large-scale commercial landscaping. 
 
Zelaya, a resident of Woodbridge, Virginia, was hired as a Crewman in 2014 and brought with him over five years’ experience in customer service. Zelaya was promoted to estimator just over a year later.
 
In the position of estimator, Weisbrot and Zelaya will respectively be responsible for verifying material costs, qualifying subcontractor quotes, calculating labor hours, capturing miscellaneous expenses and assigning preliminary margins.
