Milwaukee announces release of outdoor power equipment

The string trimmer, blower and hedge trimmer will be available in January of 2017.

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Milwaukee Tool has announced that its three core landscape maintenance tools: the M18 FUEL String Trimmer, M18 FUEL Blower, and M18 FUEL Hedge Trimmer will be available in January of 2017, a few months earlier than expected. These new tools are fully compatible with more than 125 solutions on the M18 System.

“In our constant mission to listen to our users and deliver solutions based on their needs, we spent hundreds of hours researching with landscape maintenance professionals to understand their requirements for performance, durability and ergonomics,” said Andrew Lentz, product manager for Milwaukee Tool.

M18 FUEL String Trimmer
The M18 FUEL String Trimmer has the power to clear thick brush, reaches full throttle in under one second, and provides up to one hour of run-time per charge. The motor is positioned in the rear of the trimmer to provide the best combination of power, balance and maneuverability. Through a variable speed trigger, users can choose between low and high. High provides the power to clear thick brush, and low maximizes run-time while offering plenty of power for grass trimming. A 16-inch cutting swath trims more grass in a single pass, increasing productivity. The trimmer features a single piece, solid drive shaft that delivers more consistent power during heavy applications. A full sized head holds more line and has a metal reinforced bump knob for longer life.

M18 FUEL Blower
The M18 FUEL Blower has the power to clear from 15 feet and provides a long max CFM run-time. The POWERSTATE Brushless Motor and REDLITHIUM HIGH DEMAND 9.0 Battery provide a combination of power and run-time. The increased power can clear leaves, jobsite debris and clippings in a single pass, and from a further distance, increasing productivity. At maximum power it can handle difficult cleanup tasks, like moving leaves from grass, for up to 20 minutes. The Blower features a variable speed trigger for increased control. The ambidextrous cruise control allows the Blower to be set to a desired power output so the user’s hand can be relaxed, reducing fatigue. At 30 percent quieter than gas handheld solutions, the new Blower is an excellent option for situations that require less noise, such as maintenance in the early morning or near occupied buildings.

M18 FUEL Hedge Trimmer
The M18 FUEL Hedge Trimmer has the power to cut ¾-inch branches, cuts up to 30 percent faster, and provides up to two hours of run-time per charge. The handle placement and weight distribution provide a combination of balance and control. The 24-inch blade trims more material in a single pass, increasing reach and productivity, while the blade tip guard prevents damage to the property and the blades.

Similar to what Milwaukee uses in its Sawzall, a slider crank mechanism provides increased durability and an all-metal gear case enclosure protects the critical gear drive system from jobsite abuse.
