LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Ruppert Landscape has hired Adam Bennet, Shane Lear and Brian Shadrick and has promotedf Camden Kent and Sean Davitt in the company’s Maryland Landscape Construction Branch.
Bennet has been hired as production manager. He holds an associate of applied science degree in turfgrass management and landscape construction from Ohio State University. Bennet has more than 14 years of experience in the landscape and construction industries, having held positions such as foreman and superintendent. As production manager, he will be responsible for all aspects of the installation of landscape projects, including supervising field personnel, managing subcontractors, overseeing projects, communicating to customers, and maintaining quality standards.
Lear has been hired as estimator. He graduated from Frostburg State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and has more than 15 years of experience in the residential construction industry. As estimator, he will be responsible for verifying material costs, qualifying subcontractor quotes, calculating labor hours, capturing miscellaneous expenses and assigning preliminary margins.
Shadrick has been hired as project manager. He earned his bachelor's of science degree in landscape architecture from Washington State University and has more than 15 years of landscape industry experience. He is a certified Professional Landscape Architect and CSI Construction Documents Technologist.
Kent has been promoted to project manager. He graduated from the University of Maryland in May of 2015 with a bachelor's of science degree in plant sciences/turf and golf course management and has worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. He joined the company in June of 2015 as an Assistant Field Manager and quickly worked his way up to the assistant production manager position.
In their new positions as project managers, Shadrick and Kent will respectively be responsible for the administration and installation of large or specialty landscape projects in the Maryland area.
Davitt has been promoted to operations manager. He graduated from West Virginia University in 2010 with a bachelor's of arts degree inbagricultural Business and is OSHA 30 certified. Davitt is a platinum-level graduate of ABC Metro’s Leadership Development Program and has completed the Grinnell Leadership Jumpstart program. He has been with the company for more than six years, having previously worked as estimator, project manager and production manager. As operations manager, he will be responsible for all aspects of production in the branch including all field operations, personnel, vehicles and equipment, safety, subcontracts, direct cost accounts and selected overhead expenses.
