Mainscape boasts two Florida Water Stars

The company claims two Florida Water Star accredited employees.

Mainscape’s Jeff Snyder, director of irrigation and water management, and Beau Kirkland, Orlando irrigation manager, became Florida Water Star Accredited Professionals.

Earlier this year, Florida Water Star developed an accreditation program that includes a day long class in either landscape or irrigation that outlines Florida Water Star and how to achieve each level of gold, silver or bronze certification. On the second day of the program, each candidate takes a three hour exam.

“At Mainscape we always like to support efforts to use water more efficiently,” Snyder said.
Florida Water Star is a water conservation certification program for new and existing homes and developments. It provides standards and guidelines for water efficiency in household appliances, plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems and landscapes. New homes can receive gold or silver status, while bronze is designed for retrofit of existing homes.

Snyder and Kirkland said that both the class and three hour exam were put together well and covered very technical information at a high level.

“That was a tough test,” Kirkland said.  “I am very proud to be an accredited professional with Florida Water Star.”
