Ruppert announces new hire and promotions

Rickey Ackerman, Taylor Becker and Zac Czapko will all work in the Georgia Landscape Construction Branch.


LAYTONSVILLE, Md. – Ruppert Landscape has announced the addition of Rickey Ackerman and the promotion of Taylor Becker and Zac Czapko in the Georgia Landscape Construction Branch.

Ackerman, a resident of Brookhaven, Georgia, has been hired as estimator. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in horticulture from Auburn University and has over three years of industry experience, having previously held positions as account manager and area manager. As estimator, he will be responsible for verifying material costs, qualifying subcontractor quotes, calculating labor hours, capturing miscellaneous expenses and assigning preliminary margins.
 
Becker, a resident of Chamblee, Georgia, has been promoted to project manager. He graduated from the University of Maryland College Park in 2014 with a Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture. He first joined the company in 2010 as an intern in the Maryland Landscape Construction Branch and was officially hired as assistant project manager in the Georgia Landscape Construction Branch upon graduation. In his new role as project manager, he will be responsible for all aspects of the administration and installation of large or specialty landscape projects in the Georgia area.
 
Czapko, a resident of Dacula, Georgia, has been promoted to operations manager. He has been with the company for over 12 years, having started as a field manager in the Maryland Landscape Construction Branch in 2003. He also worked as field manager and estimator in our Virginia Landscape Construction Branch before transferring to the Georgia Landscape Construction Branch in 2006 as contract administrator. He received the Branch Impact Award in 2004 for his outstanding contributions and dedication to the organization. Czapko studied computer engineering at the University of Buffalo and has worked on several committees and projects for the company over the years, including software integration and electronic purchasing. As operations manager, he will be responsible for all aspects of production in the branch including all field operations, personnel, vehicles and equipment, safety, subcontracts, direct cost accounts and selected overhead expenses.
